The first of its kind in the state, the Akwa Ibom Book & Art Festival seeks to harness our community's collective creativity and passion to showcase the richness of our cultural heritage and amplify the voices of our storytellers. Through the festival's theme, "Mbuk Nnyin", which translates to "Our Story", we aim to foster a sense of belonging and pride in our cultural identity while promoting inclusivity and diversity. By encouraging tourism and providing local writers and publishers a platform to connect and collaborate, we envision creating a dynamic ecosystem that celebrates and preserves our unique narratives.
The festival will be held at the Ibibio Cultural Museum located at Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. The musuem houses a collection of art that preserves the heritage and culture of the Ibibio people.
